Fantasy Sports Locker Room takes a closer look at last night’s Fantasy Baseball News, Notes & Injuries from around the majors – Twitter style.

“That should not happen. You are not allowed to hit this pitch that far.”- @CJNitkowski on @Trouty20‘s 7th inning HR. #WhipAround #Angels — FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) June 18, 2014
That line – from his second home run of the game that travelled 421 to left center. His first HR came at the expensive of an Indians fan. Lesson of the day for opponents fans… Do not chirp Mike Trout. Fan yells to Trout that he is juicing and on steroids. Trout steps out of the box, jumps back and takes the next pitch over the wall in right. He makes sure to point at the fan as he crosses the plate. And as if that wasn’t enough… Trout now has 16 home runs on the season and has racked up 30 RBI over his last 27 games. He has hits in a season-high 12 straight games and has reached base safely in 35 of his last 36 games. The 22-year-old had a .264/.363/.521 slash line exactly one moth ago today, battling through his first real slump in the majors. He’s turned that around…
Mike Trout‘s 2014 numbers (.312/.399/.613) are now better than his 2013 and 2012 numbers. Put another way, he might still be getting better. — Pedro Moura (@pedromoura) June 18, 2014
Tulo has been dethroned. Mike Trout leads the majors in WAR again. http://t.co/R8MmgC5w3s
— David Cameron (@DCameronFG) June 18, 2014
Trout’s game overshadowed a nice performance from Matt Shoemaker and Kole Calhoun who is owned in fewer than 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues which is just too low of a number.
Hope it’s not too long of a rain delay…be great to see @MattShoemaker33 go for the complete game. Great outing tonight. #Angels — Victor Rojas (@VictorRojas29) June 18, 2014
Four hit game for Kole Calhoun. HR, first four hit game since August 22, 2014. Second of career. #Angels lead 8-2. #Indians
— Steve Granado (@SteveGranado) June 18, 2014
The fact that Calhoun has two four game hits this early in his career shows what he can do with a bat. A big Fantasy Baseball sleeper of mine has started to show his skill since returning from the disabled list. He has five home runs and 12 RBI in 147 plate appearances and has all but solidified a spot at the top of the Angels lineup with 14 hits over his last seven starts. Calhoun has pop and showed it by hitting eight homers in 222 plate appearances last year. As for Shoemaker, he didn’t come back out for the complete game, because of the rain, but he was great allowing only five hits while striking out 10.
Jonathan Lucroy is wicked awesome! — Chris Meaney (@chrismeaney) June 18, 2014
Jonathan Lucroy with a 3-for-5 night, two home runs, one a grand slam that gave him five RBI for the game. The Brewers catcher has hits in 13 of his last 14 games. Lucroy has a .340 batting average, eight home runs and 37 RBI and is the number one ranked catcher in Fantasy Baseball. Athletics catcher Derek Norris also cash in with five RBI in a 10-6 win over the Rangers. Just something about those A’s for Yu Darvish…
Yu Darvish 1-7, 4.73 ERA in 9 career starts vs A’s. He’s 35-13, 2.93 ERA in 64 starts against other teams.
— Richard Justice (@richardjustice) June 17, 2014
Yu Darvish has walked 32 in 13 starts this year. Of the 32, 11 have come in 3 starts vs. #Athletics, including season-high 5 tonight. — John Hickey (@JHickey3) June 18, 2014
Darvish gave up seven runs, four earned on eight hits through five innings. He fanned eight, but walked five. Just something about those A’s. Meanwhile Masahiro Tanaka was having no problems last night and is just cruising in his first season in the bigs.
Masahiro Tanaka is making some pretty good hitters look pretty bad!
— Darren Dutchyshen (@dutchysc) June 18, 2014
Tanaka sat down Melky Cabrera, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion to strike out the side.
Masahiro Tanaka is the first #Yankees rookie with 10+ strikeouts in 5 games during a season since Al Downing in 1963. — Sportsnet Ticker (@SportsnetTicker) June 18, 2014
Masahiro Tanaka’s ERA is 1.99. Turns out, he was under-hyped during the winter. One of the best rookie seasons I’ve ever seen.
— Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) June 18, 2014
#Yankees Masahiro Tanaka has 113 K & 16 BB; no pitcher ever has struck out more while walking fewer through their first 14 career games.

Jose Reyes now has a 5 to 4 home run lead on Robinson Cano, in 36 fewer at bats — jasoncollette (@jasoncollette) June 17, 2014
Jose Reyes with a home run. Robinson Cano… With a home run?
Robinson Cano hit a home run. @cantpredictball
— Jonah Keri (@jonahkeri) June 17, 2014
Cano with a home run! This, not as surprising…
FINAL: the @Reds defeat the Pirates 6-5 thanks to Todd Frazier‘s 9th inning solo HR. Joey Votto: 2-5, 3 RBI Billy Hamilton: 3-4, 2 R, 3 SB — FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) June 18, 2014
Billy Hamilton with a stolen base… Three of them!
Billy Hamilton: 40th SB in 77th game; if he went back to pinch-running & got rid of pesky “reach base” part, ratio might be better yet #Reds
— Christina Kahrl (@ChristinaKahrl) June 18, 2014
Hamilton is not only stealing bases, he is smacking the ball around all over the park.
#Reds Billy Hamilton is batting .302/.340/.436 with 4 HR & 25 SB over his last 52 games played. — Ace of MLB Stats (@AceballStats) June 18, 2014
Billy Hamilton with 17 hits in 51 at-bats so far in the month of June. http://t.co/FTkHkzhec8 — Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) June 18, 2014
Don’t look now, but Billy Hamilton is up above 2.0 fWAR. Amazing what’s possible when you have rocket ships for legs.
— Beyond the Box Score (@BtBScore) June 18, 2014
Sell high if you want. I loved Hamilton coming in and I love him maybe even more the rest of the way now that he seems to have found a groove at the plate.
9 IN A ROW! FINAL: the @Royals crush the Tigers 11-4. Yordano Ventura: 7 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 BB 4 K Max Scherzer: 4 IP 10 H 10 ER 1 BB 5 K — FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) June 18, 2014
Speaking of a groove, the Royals took over the AL Central lead with a win over the Tigers. That Yordano Ventura kid, still throwing heat!
That was a 100 mph fastball Yordano Ventura threw to backstop, and a direct hop off door to Salvy Perez to throw out Suarez. Inning over.

Bruised right ring finger for Hanley Ramirez. X-rays showed no break. Dodgers say he’s day-to-day. — Pedro Moura (@pedromoura) June 18, 2014
Hanley Ramirez hits a two run shot and then leaves last night’s game with a finger bruise. Something about this guy, he just can’t stay healthy. Watched a bit of this game last night and noticed the Dodgers shortstop would get his shoulder worked on over and over while his team was up to bat. Owners should be worried about him the rest of the way as he could spend some time on the DL if it continues to bother him. He has all the talent in the world, but I would consider packaging him if the price was right.
Make that 31HRs tonight as Matt Kemp goes yard. Yes Matt Kemp went yard. #Dodgers
— Waiver Wire Warrior (@WaiverWarrior) June 18, 2014
His teammate Matt Kemp playing good ball! He has six multi-hit games over his last 10, good for a .424 average. His .267 average has us owners wondering if Kemp can keep it going. He has seven RBI over his last six games.
